01Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how OMG ("OMG", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile apps, websites, and related services (together, the "Service"). OMG is a live video app that connects adults for real-time video and text conversations.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use OMG. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Use.

02Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Information you give us

• Account & profile: username, age, gender, language, interests, city, and the "about me" details you add to your profile.
• Photos: the profile photos you upload (up to six), including a main photo.
• Verification: images or signals used to confirm you are a real person and over 18 (for example, a photo for age or profile verification).
• Support & reports: messages you send us, and the content of any reports you file about other users.

Information created when you use OMG

• Camera & microphone: during a video or voice chat, live audio and video are transmitted between you and the person you are connected with so the call can happen. We do not record your calls to build a library of them; limited processing may occur for safety and moderation as described below.
• Location: with your permission, approximate or precise location to show people nearby and improve match suggestions. You can turn this off in your device settings.
• Usage & device: device model, operating system, app version, language, IP address, identifiers, and how you interact with the Service (matches, skips, session length).
• Purchases: records of OMG PRO and other in-app purchases. Payments are processed by Apple and Google — we do not receive your full card details.

03How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account and profile.
• Match you with other people and power the core video-chat experience.
• Verify age and identity, and keep fake accounts out.
• Detect, prevent, and respond to harassment, abuse, illegal content, and violations of our rules.
• Process purchases and manage subscriptions.
• Provide support and respond to your requests.
• Improve and develop features, and understand how the Service is used.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

Depending on your region, our legal bases for processing include performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests (such as safety and fraud prevention), your consent (such as for location or marketing), and compliance with the law.

04Age verification & adults-only

OMG is for adults. We use a combination of self-declared age, account signals, and verification checks to keep the community 18+. If we believe an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it and delete associated data, and we may report to authorities where required by law.

05Age assurance & face-based age estimation

To keep OMG adults-only, an automated age-estimation check may run when your camera is on, just before you start matching. It analyzes your face only to estimate whether you are likely 18 or over — it does not identify you, and it is never used for advertising.

Here's how we handle the data involved:

• We do not create or store a face template that could uniquely identify you.
• The temporary face scan used for the check is deleted shortly after it completes — typically within about a day.
• We keep a limited number of audit images for up to 3 months to troubleshoot and improve the check.
• We keep the resulting age estimate for up to 12 months.

06Safety & moderation

Keeping OMG safe is core to what we do. To protect our community, we use a mix of automated systems and human review to detect harassment, abuse, and other rule-breaking behavior in real time. When our systems detect a likely violation, video can be blurred or paused automatically.

When you report someone, we may automatically capture a short clip of the interaction and review relevant information to act on the report. Users who break our rules may be permanently banned and have their device blocked. We keep certain information about violations to prevent banned users from returning.

07How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

• With other users: your public profile (username, age, photos, interests, general location such as city) is visible to people you may match with.
• With service providers: vendors who help us run OMG — such as cloud hosting, messaging and push notifications (e.g. Google Firebase), analytics, and content-moderation tools — under contracts that limit their use of your data.
• For payments: Apple and Google process in-app purchases under their own terms.
• For legal reasons: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights, or protect the safety of users and the public.
• In a business transfer: as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required.

08Cookies & similar technologies

On our websites we use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and understand usage. In our apps we use device identifiers and SDKs for similar purposes. You can control cookies through your browser settings and limit ad tracking through your device settings.

09Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it for the reasons below.

Some data is kept longer to meet legal or safety obligations:

• Safety window: for a short period after you close your account (about 3 months) we retain limited data to investigate abuse, harassment, or other harmful conduct.
• Transaction records: kept for up to 10 years where tax and accounting law requires it.
• Logs & traffic data: kept for around 1 year to meet legal data-retention obligations and protect the Service.
• Payment data: kept for as long as you may challenge or dispute a transaction.

10Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

You can delete your account in the app at any time. To exercise other rights, contact us at privacy@omg.chat. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

11International data transfers

OMG is a global service, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including countries that may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your information when it is transferred.

12Children

The Service is not directed to and may not be used by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it.

13Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other means. Your continued use of OMG after an update means you accept the revised policy.
